Seven Hills Neighborhood Houses and the Port solidified their partnership at a news conference on October 9th. The agreement describes how Seven Hills will work with the Port to foster equitable development in the West End.
“We’ll be working to build upon and develop our capacity, while also attracting and supporting purposeful developments that align with the goals of the WE Speak plan, Our doors are always open so the community can stay informed, build their knowledge and participate in neighborhood development,” says Tia Brown of Seven Hills.
Seven Hills is working to implement a program to disburse the $100,000 in housing funds, committed by FC Cincinnati in the Community Benefits Agreement (CBA), to support the immediate housing needs of low and moderate income residents in the West End to remediate code enforcement orders on property. Matching funds are wanted to increase the fund so more residents can be assisted. In the future the housing improvement fund will provide aid to residents, such as down-payment or rental support and forgivable loans for development that commits to keep rental rates affordable.
