Board of Directors
The Neighborhood House is currently governed by a ten-member Board of Directors. Primary Board responsibilities include long-term visioning, strategic planning, financial stewardship, policy formulation, leadership and staff support, and partnership and volunteer recruitment.
Current Board members (year joined board) are:
- Chair, Curtis Maples, M.Eng, Senior Electrical Engineer, Standex-Meder Electronics, Adjunct Faculty, Center for Innovative Technologies, Cincinnati State Technical and Community College (2015)
- Vice-Chair, Margaret Nelsen, 20-year+ Neighborhood House volunteer (2015)
- Treasurer, Vonnie Tawwab, West End Resident & Business owner, Community Volunteer and active member of the SisterLink Women’s Program. She is a member of the CCTST’s West End Community Research Advisory Board and recently became a HealthRHYTHMS Empowerment Drumming facilitator. (2018)
- Secretary, Heather Ellison, Chief Strategy Officer for the Children’s Home of Cincinnati
- Gwendolyn Yip, Past First Lady of the University of Cincinnati, current First Lady of the University of British Columbia (2014)
- Yvette Simpson, West End Resident, lawyer, college administrator, public servant, and consultant (2018)
